Top 10 Ways To Control Work Pressure

Everyone who has a job has undergone the feeling of being under pressure at some point in their career. This may be short-term, related to meeting deadlines or submitting an important assignment, or a constant pressure to perform better. Most of the employees think with time it’ll get better, but it’s important to understand that this pressure may be related to something at a deeper level. These issues can be your unorganized behaviour; the constant pestering of your ‘friendly’ boss or a negative social environment at your workplace. If you’re looking for ways to tackle your work pressure and be your own boss in terms of your work, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s get productive!

10. The Nerdy Stuff
Work here, work there, work everywhere. If you can relate to this line, chances are you might be doing it wrong. If you don’t organize your work properly, you might end up in a slump. And we obviously don’t want that. So first things first, go old school. Create a nice planner, for the upcoming week, or even a month whichever suits you. Mark important meetings, deadlines etc. so that you can keep a track of everything and not end up procrastinating. Also, you can use various apps that are available which serve the same purpose with better functionality.



Take a break
All work and no play makes Jack a dull employee. Along with regular work, enough break and rest days are equally important. Don’t think about work constantly. If you’re the kind of person who takes their work at home, maybe consider leaving things at the office. It’s nice for once in a while to let your mind rejuvenate and recharge so that you can work with fresh energy and enthusiasm the next day. So next time, take a weekend off, play a little, give your hobby some time and watch that pressure cool off.

Keep Calm and Keep Calm
The key to being successful in a workplace is always maintaining our cool, even in the worst of situations. There must’ve been times when things didn’t work out exactly the way you wanted them to be, or you’re just worried about results, never lose your patience. Constant worrying will only make things worse. Instead, keep aside time for worry. Worry all you want for 10 minutes, but in the next 11th minute, get back to work, this trick makes you naturally feel better and thus, helps you cope up with work pressure. Just cut the drama.






Never hesitate to ask for help
There’s this presentation you know nothing about, or the boss just threw in a jargon while explaining something to you; too ashamed to ask what it means? Never be. It’s better to sound a fool for once than to be a fool forever. Your work pressure could also be bothering you because you’re not able to execute certain tasks, and this may be due to your lack of knowledge about it. In such cases, don’t hesitate to ask for help from your coworkers or superiors. They can take you out from where you’re stuck in a minute.

Get Social at Workplace
They’re probably in the same pit as you are. Don’t worry; you don’t need to be best buddies with them. Since they work at the same place as you do, they obviously know the place as good as you. It’ll be much easier to share your problems and feelings with them than with your friends from outside, who might be there to hear you, but probably can’t help you as good as your coworkers. Find someone whom you can trust, and try to open up to them. This can help you reduce your work stress greatly.

Work that body
(Not meant in an offensive way) No, we’re not talking about hitting the gym for long hours, but casual walks will do you good every once in a while. Sitting for long hours in front of a computer screen every day creates monotony and boredom, and also becomes hectic. Thus, to not make this a reason for your work pressure, maintain your physical fitness. Opt for a standing desk, or maybe take a walk during the lunch break. Go via the stairs instead of waiting for the lift, or just get up early in the morning. Little things like these also go a long way.

Adapt to changes
Your office changing its policy making you worry? Not a tech savvy person and your workplace getting a tech upgrade? Don’t be surprised, these are actually a reason for work pressure. The best way to deal with changes is to learn how to adapt to them. Learn new technology for example, or learn a new skill. Getting better at what you do will only help you in future to cope with changes and make you more confident about yourself. By doing this you’ll be much more sure of what you’re doing and thus less stress.

Time is money
You might’ve been bored to death hearing this rhetorical. But you can’t ignore its value. Effective time management will greatly help you manage your work pressure. Follow the time quadrant policy. Create a to-do list and divide the task into four quadrants, in the relation of their importance and urgency. Do the task which are important and urgent first, and don’t procrastinate them. Additionally, be a good sport and learn to say ‘no’ to people. You don’t have to take everything into in your own hands. This will make you do only necessary work and unimportant task will not occupy your time.



Find out the root cause
For some days, create a journal. Write your daily thoughts in it; identify when you’re at your lowest and what make you feel pressured at work. Find out what creates your work stress, and then find a solution for it. Without proper diagnosis, you can’t be treating anything. These pointers will help you cut off toxic things (Also, toxic people) from your life that create a problem for you. Once all the negativity gets removed, you’re work pressure will start to vanish almost instantly.

Some issues can’t be resolved alone. If you’ve found out something that makes you worry at a workplace that is not under your control, take it up with your superior. The idea is not to condemn and complain, but to solve the issue in a healthy and productive manner. These might include employee wellness plans that you can get into, or redesigning your job structure to accommodate your needs and skills in order to make it better for you. (P.S. Just don’t be a snitch.  )

Dagan an Qai yace, sai na kasa mallakar idona sai da hawaye ya zubo cikin sauri ya jiqa min aljihun rigata, sai nace, Allah ya yafe mata laifinta duk da yake a duniya dan kadanne samunta.


Qais ko Laila Majnun Bai gusheba a cikin wannan hali har sai da ya samu tabin hankali.  Domin ya kasance idan yaga yara suna wasan kasa yakan zauna tare dasu ya taro kasa ya rinqa gina gida irin wanda yara suke yi da kasa yana cewa cikin waqa: “abokaina kuzo kuga gidana nida laila”....!

A yayinda al-amari ya tsananta sai mutane suka baiwa mahaifin Majnun wato Qais shawara da ya daukeshi ya kaishi ka’aba (dakin Allah) ya umarce shi da ya roqi Allah ya cire masa son Laila! Amma saboda tsananin soyayya a yayin da suka je dakin ka’aba sai mahaifinsa yace masa: kama tufafin ka’aba ka roki Allah ya cire maka son Laila sai Majnun ya kama yace: “Allah na tuba gareka daga dukkan laifi, amma bazan tuba daga son da nake yiwa Laila ba . . . ataqaice haka majnun ya rayu cikin wannan yanayi na abin tausayi!

Ita kuwa Laila tuni wanda ya aureta ya dauke daga kasar Saudiyya gabaki daya zuwa kasar Iraqi. Haka itama ta rayu cikin wannan mummunan yanayi abinka da ‘ya mace mai rauni said a rashin ganin Qais ya haddasa mata ciwon zuciya .......! Daga nan ita ma ta kamu da ciwon zuciya saboda tsananin soyayyar Qais Majnun! Tana cikin wannan hali ne na rashin ganin masoyinta Allah ya karbi rayuwarta! A lokacin da Majnun yaji labarin rasuwarta sai da yaje har kasar Iraqi ya nemi inda take, da inda aka binne ta, a makabartar da aka binne laila a daidai gindin kabarinta ya tare.....! Bashi da aiki sai kuka da wakokin soyayya a gareta. Wata rana da safe sai masu wucewa suka hangoshi (Qais-Majnun) ya kifa cikinsa akan qabarinta, ko da aka zo aka  duba sai aka tarar Allah ya yi masa cikawa! "My Friend's Girlfriend Was Raped To Death In Libya" - Nigerian Man

Nigerian returnee from Libya, Omo Harry, has narrated the bizzare and unfortunate things himself and other Nigerians faced while they were trapped in Libya on their way to Europe . In an interview with Vanguard, Omo who recently returned to Nigeria, narrated how his friend, Denis’s girlfriend, Rita, whom they all embarked on the journey to Europe in April 2016, was raped to death because she could not afford the money needed for her to continue her journey from Libya to Euope. Omo said Rita was handcuffed and boys took turns to rape her. She died when one of the boys tried to penertate her. Her corpse was abandoned for two days before it was removed. Her boyfriend watched the men take their turns to have sex with her. My friend, Denis, said I could travel to Europe if I could raise at least N500,000. He told me that he was also trying to raise same amount for an agent that would facilitate it. I had to sell all my property , including the parcel of land I acquired at Ogudu Bale area of Ogun state. But I could only raise N350,000 at the end. Denis was able to raise N300,000 while his girlfriend, Rita, had N250,000. The agent said he would complete the money but that we would pay him the balance when we got to Libya. When asked how, he said he would introduce us to someone , who would get us a job and that after paying his balance, we would proceed to Europe. We bought gala, garri and bread and also bought two bags of sachet water as advised by the agent and left Lagos for Kano. On arriving the border between Kano and Niger, the agent told us to bring N7000 out of the money with us. As we approached the border, a Customs officer came, collected the money from us and asked us to wait until he gave the directive for us to cross thorough a bush path. Finally, we arrived Qatrun, the first state in Libya . We were taken to a connection house . In that connection house were tranke which are camps where migrants who do not have the needed amount to continue the journey are kept. On the first day at the tranke, we were welcomed with good food. But at night, they began a roll call and separated those who had completed payment from those who hadn’t . Of course, myself, Denis and Rita were in the disadvantaged group. At this point, the agent was nowhere to be found. In fact we were all confused as to what to do next . At this connection house, the head is called Capon. We also had OC Torture . The Capo collects relatives number and demand money for captives to continue their journey. It was at that point that I got to know that Rita did not tell her parents she was traveling. When she was given the phone to speak with her mother, we overheard her crying. Rita’s parents sent N150,000, which covered three of us. We thought we were free, not knowing that the horror had only just begun.” Sabha connection house.

First, the numeral system just about everyone reading this probably uses is called the Arabic numeral system or, more recently, the Hindu-Arabic numeral system. The original name is a misnomer, since it was invented in India and not in the Middle East. However, they’re called “Arabic numerals” because Europeans thought they were invented by the Arabs. It’s not the just the numeral system that has a fascinating origin; individual numbers also have their own fascinating and downright surprising histories. Here are ten of them.
10 ‘Billion’ A billion, a one followed by nine zeros, is a thousand million. However, a little over four decades ago, the word “billion” referred to two different numbers. The first is a thousand million (a one and nine zeros), which remains a billion today, while the other is a million million (a one and 12 zeros), which we call a trillion today. This duality is due to differences between American and British English . American English has always recognized a billion as a thousand million, while British English used to recognize a billion as a million million. At the same time, British English recognized a thousand million (today’s billion) as a milliard. Likewise, there were two trillions. The first is the million million (a one and 12 zeros), which American English has always recognized as a trillion, while the other was a million million million (a one and 18 zeros), which British English recognized as a trillion. However, all these changed in 1974, when British English dumped the milliard and their definitions of billions and trillions for that of the Americans.

FACTS: 10 Reasons Why Boys And Girls Cannot Be Just Friends

We have seen it in movies, we have read it in books, we have even seen it in real life. Boys and girls end up as lovers. No matter what. Period.. And here are ten reasons as to why boys and girls cannot be just friends.
Reason 10: We are too different.

To be precise, and I mean it in a completely stereotypical way, that the interests of a boy and a girl usually, and more often than not, be very different from each other. Like generally, boys are interested in computer games, while girls would be more interested with makeup and fashion. Due to the clash of interests, there might not be any common ground or interest for them to bond over. Ergo, no friendship.[Note: I mean this in a completely stereotypical generic manner, and it is not specific. Because every individual is different. For example some guys might be more interested in makeup rather than computer games, while on the other hand we have an entire community of girl gamers.]
Reason Nine: Misunderstandings

Usually, more often than not, people tend to confuse care and special consideration as a deeper level of affection. They tend to confuse friendship for love and that is where people mess up. While the girl wants a completely platonic relationship, the guy misunderstands her actions for a romantic relationship. Due to this, some friendships get broken.
Reason Eight: Sexuality

If you identify yourself as a homosexual, then the friendship between you and the opposite gender is workable. Because there is a very low a chance for ‘something’ to happen, however if you’re a heterosexual individual- things are different. The reason being that you are genetically programmed to find the opposite gender appealing and attractive, and there is no way you can be “just” friends with someone who creates butterflies in your stomach.
Reason Seven: Trust

You see, we live in a world where normal trustworthy friendship is hard to find, let alone friendship with the opposite gender. If news media are to be believed, boys under the pretext of friendship take advantage of it and might make the girl find herself in a very compromising situation. But it works both ways, while some boys may misuse their friendship; some girls befriend boys in order for them to gain a “friend” who can provide them with free food, car rides, and someone to carry the bags while they shop. This is actually a superficial friendship that takes place for its namesake. [Note: This isn’t applied to the general population of boys and girls, but it is a reality some of us see and chose to ignore.]
Reason Six: Disappointment

The thing with a boy-girl friendship is that, it is different than your normal same gender friendship. You expect things to be different. And when it doesn’t turn around to be like your expectation, there is disappointment- and that disappointment leads to cold feelings between the two parties involved which eventually lead to fall out between the two. To be clearer a girl would expect to her guy friend to chose her as her lab partner or chose her to be his date for a dance or his first choice when going to the movies, but when that doesn’t happen and the guy chooses some other girl from his neighbourhood or college to go for a movie that the girl had wanted to see with him- it causes trouble. There are expectations. And when they aren’t met, a teeny tiny portion somewhere in your heart gets a little crack .
Reason Five: Society challenges

We are brought up in a country where if a boy and a girl were walking down a road alone, it is assumed that they are dating, irrespective of the fact whether they are actually dating or are just friends. Due to this, the possible friendship that could happen between a boy and a girl is already strained. And if the friendship has actually taken place, it is taken apart because: 1.A) They don’t want rumours floating about them 2.B) Parental pressure to ‘stay away’ from that boy or girl. Sadly, due to this, friendship does not blossom.
Reason Four: Jealousy

It is very common when a friend of yours get into a relationship, they don’t hang out with you like you used to. The case is far worse when that friend of yours is from the opposite gender. Maybe it might be jealousy resulting from dormant feelings you didn’t know until they started dating, or it could possibly be that you aren’t their first priority anymore. This hurts. And no one wants to be the one on the jealousy side.

Reason Three: Hormones.

Hormones. Honestly speaking, there is simply too much hormones between a boy and a girl to be, you know, “just friends”. Nah. That never works. The notion of “just friends” is doomed from the start. Maybe they start out as friends, and become close friends, but someone is bound to slip up some day and then ta-dah! They’re more than just friends. There is a saying that goes- if a boy and a girl are just friends, it is usually because one of them is really good at keeping their inner feelings as a secret. Reason Two: Science

Even scientific studies show that male and female can’t be just friends. Guys will tend to overperceive a friendly gesture to be something more. In one case study it was shown that males were more prone to fall for their significant female friends as well as overreading their gestures to be more romantic-like. While on the other hand, females underperceived their significant male friends’ gestures and flirtations as well as not as much as prone to falling for their male friends to the point that they had completely friendzoned them and understood this ‘platonic friendship’ to be mutual.
Reason One: Feelings
So after being friends for a long time, maybe those dormant feelings of romantic affections erupt. The feeling is mutual and said out loud. Then, both of you decide to pursue a relationship that works in both your favour. But the thing is, when you get into a relationship, you guys aren’t just friends anymore, are you?
